Alessandro Marano is an Italian pianist known for his expressive style and deep commitment to the classical repertoire. He studied at the “Stanislao Giacomantonio” Conservatory in Cosenza and spent eight years refining his skills in Switzerland with teachers like Edith Fischer and Paul Badura-Skoda. He also trained with Aldo Ciccolini and Bruno Canino. A prizewinner in several national and international competitions, Marano has performed widely across Europe and the Americas, both as a soloist and with orchestras such as the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, the Sibiu State Philharmonic, and the Orquesta Juvenil de Zapopan. He’s especially passionate about the lesser-known works of Liszt and has performed and recorded all of Beethoven’s piano concertos using the string orchestra arrangement by Vinzenz Lachner. Marano teaches at the “F. Torrefranca” Conservatory in Vibo Valentia and is Artistic Director of both the Cosenza Symphony Orchestra and its International Piano Festival. He is also President of the Franz Liszt Piano Society and directs the “Antonio Vivaldi” Festival.
